Privacy Policy

Effective September 10, 2026

Mr. Foot Care Inc. ("Mr. Foot Care," "we," "us") provides in-home nursing foot care in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and how it's protected. We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada's federal private-sector privacy law.

Who is responsible for your information

Mr. Foot Care Inc. is accountable for the information described in this policy. Ravin, our Registered Nurse, handles privacy questions, concerns, and requests day to day — reach us at hellomrfootcare@gmail.com or (902) 979-3668.

What we collect

We collect information you give us directly:

  • Name, phone number, and email address
  • Home address and access instructions, so we can arrive at the right place
  • Health-relevant details you choose to share when booking or messaging us — for example, diabetes status or mobility concerns — so your visit can be planned safely
  • Any messages you send through the on-site chat or contact form

If you book on behalf of a parent or family member, we collect their name and your relationship to them, not just your own details.

Why we collect it

We use your information only to:

  • Confirm and schedule your visit, and contact you about it
  • Plan care appropriately around any health details you share
  • Respond to questions sent through the chat widget or contact form
  • Provide a receipt for insurance reimbursement, if requested
  • Keep basic business and tax records

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it to anyone.

Who else sees it

We don't share your information with third parties for their own purposes. A small number of service providers process it strictly on our behalf, to make the business run:

  • Google Sheets — stores booking requests, viewable only by Ravin
  • Telegram — sends Ravin a notification when you submit a booking or chat message
  • Supabase — stores on-site chat message history so a conversation can resume if you come back
  • Google Analytics — collects anonymized traffic data (pages visited, general location, device type) to help us understand site usage
  • OpenStreetMap (Nominatim & OSRM) — when you review a booking request, the address you entered is sent to these free, open mapping services to estimate driving distance and travel time to your visit. No booking or contact details are sent, only the address text.

We'd only disclose your information beyond this if required by law, or with your explicit consent.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses two kinds of cookies. Essential cookies keep the site working — for example, the chat widget stores a random ID in your browser's local storage so your conversation history can load if you return. This ID doesn't identify you personally.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) help us understand how many people visit the site and which pages they use, so we can improve it. We don't use this data for advertising, and we don't combine it with the personal information you give us when booking or chatting. IP addresses are anonymized before Google Analytics processes them. We don't run advertising trackers or retargeting pixels of any kind.

You can decline analytics cookies at the browser level using a tool like the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

How long we keep it

We keep booking and care-related information for as long as needed to provide services, meet record-keeping obligations for a healthcare practice, and satisfy Canadian tax requirements — typically up to six years. You can ask us to delete information sooner where we're not required to retain it.

How it's protected

All information sent through this site travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Booking and chat records are kept in accounts only Ravin can access, protected by passwords and, where available, two-factor authentication. We don't print or store your information anywhere public.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA, you can:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct information that's inaccurate or out of date
  • Withdraw consent for us to hold your information, subject to legal or professional record-keeping requirements
  • Ask us to delete information we're not required to keep

To exercise any of these, contact us at hellomrfootcare@gmail.com. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can bring a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and post the revised version here.
